How important is the kitchen space for a home and how important is the way it serves the needs of the home?
The kitchen has always been a meeting place. With the latest trend in architecture, creating open-plan spaces – loft-type – and living rooms, we see it more often integrated into the living room section. As everyday needs change, we propose flexible solutions that meet the requirements of each client and fit harmoniously into the space.
What are the advantages of the special design and what points should one pay attention to when deciding to “refresh” an existing piece of furniture?
In our company, the customer has the advantage of custom made, since every environment has its own particularities. We make furniture that fits perfectly into the space, with the right proportions and fully usable. The choice of colours, textures and materials is not limited to a colour scheme. In the case of a small change to an existing kitchen, I suggest replacing the doors on the hanging cabinets with a shade of a brighter colour. For the cabinets, an easy solution is to change the knobs, as they are the main accessory.
Your experience in special constructions is extensive. Which materials give the impression of a larger space?
Every home is different and we approach new projects with this in mind. When there are openings and the client’s request is for a large, bright, timeless kitchen, we design based on natural light sources and suggest smooth textures such as lacquer or synthetic surfaces, matt and glossy, creating colour contrasts. If the material has a wood look, then we choose horizontal, wide and continuous wood waters to accentuate the length. In wardrobes and dressing rooms, vertical wood waters are ideal to give the illusion of height. In the right choice of kitchen and cabinetry, it is essential to go with the masonry, choosing shades that blend with the flooring and furniture.
What gives flexibility to a kitchen and how can it be transformed?
We are constantly discovering new materials that give us more possibilities in design and implementation. A kitchen made of durable materials, with a good layout and proper planning to anticipate future appliances is considered functionally flexible. Most importantly, however, there are so many solutions in design and price without compromising quality. The choice is difficult, as it is furniture that we don’t change often, however with the help of an expert you will achieve the best possible result.
